In their natural environment, a thriving orchid benefit from the water in the soil and the air humidity and its life expectancy is intimately linked to the right dosage of these two essential factors.
Orchids love water but are very demanding regarding the quality and quantity of it :
Water quality :
As a general rule, all orchids should be watered with a very low mineralised water, except for the Paphiopedilum variety and other types of soil grown Cymbidiums. Rainwater is by far the best water for your orchids, even if you live in urban areas.
Alternatively, we recommend the use of a mineral water whose calcium content is low, such as the brand Volvic in Continental Europe.
Never use purified and demineralised water
