Angraecum sesquipedale
The Angraecum sesquipedale is also nicknamed the comet of Madagascar and is certainly the rarest and most sought after Malagasi orchid we know. Collectors especially love its flower, and the length of its spur. This specie requires a lot of light in the winter, a high air humidity content and is best cultivated in a breezy environment. When at adult stage, the plant can grow to 120 cm in height, with a span of roughly 80. The inflorescences ( 25 to 30 cm) usually have 1 or 2 flowers.
